Nice UI, power hog

This has a nice UI and thankful stays to the point with just the right number of customizable options (length if time, sounds - the cat meow never fails to make me jump!) its a very useful app.
It does have a big problem that I hope the developer can improve; power consumption. If I use it for more than 4 hours Ill have a dead battery whereas I normally last the whole day. And that is with the screen off and ticking off. Not sure what can be done but Im sure iOS provides capabilities.
